Job Description PW-I Advanced Autonomy: Software Engineers The Phantom Works - International (PW-I) division of Boeing Defense, Space & Security is the Research & Development centre of excellence for Boeing and we are seeking experienced Software Engineers to work in our Advanced Autonomous Systems portfolio which includes programs such as the Airpower Teaming System(ATS) and other emerging technologies. You will gain a broad exposure to defence aerospace and operational concepts, a multi-national customer base, experience full development lifecycle exposure from concepts to flight tests in rapid timeframes employing Model Based System Engineering(MBSE) and Agile Methodologies. We are searching for experienced Software Engineers (P2/P3) with backgrounds in the following areas: Essential: Analysis of requirements, development of system architecture artefacts to support the design and development of prototypes and concepts Experience with formal tools for requirements and configuration management Modelling and recording of designs Trade studies, modelling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component interconnects and system performance optimising design around established requirements Support the preparation of statements of work and technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection, qualification and acceptance Support the development of architectures integrating mechanical, communications, software and electrical systems and components Conduct and support the integration, troubleshooting, qualification and V&V of components, subsystems, systems and platforms Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Software, Electrical, Microelectronic or Mechatronic Engineering Desirable: Experience in the full breadth of software engineering activities - concept to in-service Experience in operations with autonomous systems Experience in MBSE including simulation and modelling tools Experience in airborne sensor, communications and mission systems About You An experienced Software Engineer you have a track record of successful execution within complex development projects in aerospace, defence or other relevant industry. You will have tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT or Engineering and a practical capability to develop, test and field equipment. You are comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and changing priorities when safety, programmatic, operational and customer priorities dictate. You will be experienced in the use of modelling, requirements and configuration management systems. Your exceptional communication skills and ability to work as part of a close knit multi-disciplinary team will contribute to project success. You will be a member of a team employing model based systems engineering and agile development methodologies working on cutting edge technology.
