About the Opportunity
Journey Beyond is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Operations and Maintenance Manager to join our Outback Spirit Tours Team in Darwin.
As the Operations and Maintenance Manager, you will provide logistic and technical support for Outback Spirit camps and lodges as well as oversee development and continuous improvement projects. You will also ensure the highest level of safety standards and compliance for marine activities are met.
The role will report directly to the General Manager of Safari Camps.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
- Oversee all maintenance activities for camps and lodges
- Source and supply of bulk fuels
- Respond to electrical and refrigeration break downs as appropriate
- Arrange suitably qualified and insured contractors for responses as required
- Support WHS related procedures
- Oversight of marine compliance
- Procurement of equipment.
- Oversee and manage crew activity in camps
- Experience/ technical background
- Safety focus
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
About You
To be successful in this role you must have;
- Experience/ technical background
- Safety focus
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and data management software
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and be pragmatic when required
- Diligent with compliance activities
- Detail orientated
- Trade qualified in Electrician, Refrigeration or Mechanic (highly desirable)
- 3+ years’ experience in project management role or multi-faceted business management role
- An excellent understanding of, or experience in the tourism industry is favourable
