Manager, Internal Communications role supports key Qantas Operational group functions. The role will manage and coordinate all strategic internal communications activities, provide strategic advice on emerging issues, crisis management and stakeholder engagement. This is a maternity leave contract (14 months) with the opportunity to move into other roles within the communication team after this period for the right candidate.

You’ll have:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Experience working in a communications role for operational or service based industry

  • Issues and crisis management experience in a similarly high-profile environment

  • Development and implementation of internal communications strategies (e.g. campaigns, key issues)

  • Experiencing managing cross cultural requirements and reporting to and within international teams

  • Excellent ability to build strong relationships (internal and external), including at senior levels with a large organisation

  • Ability to deal with fast-paced environments and excel under pressure

  • Ability to absorb complex information quickly and distil to widely accessible messages

  • Willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

  • Ability to prepare communications material for a wide range of audiences and purposes

  • Experience managing the workflow of team members

  • Mentoring and coaching team members

  • Ability to drive outcomes
