Northrop Grumman Australia – Defence Services provides the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) with through-life support for its fleet of KC-30A Multi-role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft—a derivative of the Airbus A330-200—located at RAAF Amberley. The platform is a trusted and proven asset and the program is continually growing in capability and expertise.

A unique and rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk, Issues & Opportunities Manager to join the KC-30A Program team based at Amberley, QLD.

KC-30A Enterprise Risk Issue & Opportunities (RIO) Manager’s primary focus is to implement and execute the KC-30A Enterprise RIO Management Framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and ongoing review of key strategic documents, which provide the governance and framework for the identification, categorisation and management of KC-30A Enterprise Risks, Issues and Opportunities.

You will liaise effectively with all levels of the KC-30A Enterprise and functional support areas to identify and capture risks, issues and opportunities, and will be the custodian of all registers in support of this activity. The KC-30A RIO Manager will also be responsible for the coordination and synchronized communication of the mitigation / execution strategies implemented to meet enterprise timelines and outcome requirements.

The successful candidate will be an expert communicator that demonstrates passion and determination to drive best-practice across the enterprise.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and execution of the KC-30A Risk, Issues and Opportunities Management (RIO) Framework;
  • Development and ongoing review and amendment of strategic plans, policies and procedures in support RIO management for the KC-30A Sustainment Enterprise;
  • Support the delivery and harmonised approach to RIO management and leadership throughout the KC-30A Sustainment Enterprise;
  • Support and assist the development of mitigation and execution strategies that promote best possible Value For Money for the customer;
  • Management of multiple databases for registration and tracking of RIO’s;
  • Provide advice and assist in the identification of potential RIO’s early in the value stream both at the Enterprise and Operational level;
  • Liaise with all Program, and Corporate functional Managers as required to ensure that RIO management aligns with company policy, process and tools.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Risk Management qualifications
  • Demonstrated risk management experience in an integrated logistics management environment
  • Proven document creation and management experience
  • Working experience in Process Improvement activities
  • Defence Industry knowledge and experience (desired)
  • Must be an Australian citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining an Australian Defence security clearance
