The Opportunity

BDA is the one of the largest defence companies in Australia, and is now recruiting highly skilled and motivated individuals to conduct Technical Maintenance (Mechanical) courseware development and instructional activities at RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA for BDA, supporting P-8A Poseidon Maintenance Training.

We are seeking self-motivated professionals with technical maintenance developmental and instructional skills with a desire for a challenging and rewarding career with BDA. This position fulfils vital instructional delivery tasks and courseware material developmental activities, in support of both the sustainment and emerging work for all P-8A Aircraft training requirements.

We are actively recruiting Aviation Maintenance (Mechanical) developers and instructors, with experience in the following fields to complement our team:

  • B737NG Airframe Systems
  • CFM56 Power Plants and APU Systems
  • P-8A Poseidon - Unique Aircraft Systems
  • Air Force Maintenance Processes and Procedures
  • Instructor and Courseware Development skills
This position is located at RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA but affords exciting opportunities to support future platform operators within Australia and internationally if required.

Generous and competitive pay is on offer as well as an additional allowance of reserve time, enabling BDA staff to remain current and relevant within their specialisation.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the conduct of all P-8A Aircraft Mechanical Maintenance Instructor delivery for ongoing sustainment activities and “train the trainer” coach/mentoring tasks for emerging P-8A fleet support
  • Analyse lesson framework needs and design maintenance training solutions and products to meet BDA's P-8A Aircraft capability requirements
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of developed training programs
  • Provide SME support to the development of essential P-8A Aircraft courseware to meet BDA and DASR requirements, primarily for maintenance, as well as pilot and mission crew training materials in order to meet stipulated training specifications
  • Conduct P-8A Aircraft Courseware continuous improvement tasks
  • Develop and pilot new courses with new innovative processes and technology, working collaboratively with our P-8A platform stakeholders.

Essential

Experience/Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills Mechanical (MEA40718), or equivalent qualification
  • Experience on the P-8A or B737NG with a B1 MAML, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' Mechanical Aircraft Maintenance (B1.1) experience
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
Desirable
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE 40116), or equivalent qualification
  • Hold or, have held, a P-8A Poseidon Instructional qualification
  • Previous experience as an instructor/mentor/supervisor is desired, but is not essential. BDA will support the right individual to achieve this qualification
