The opportunity

QBE are committed to continuing to strengthen our risk culture, governance and accountability across the Group and have stepped up efforts to ensure that our risk management practices and systems remain robust, independent and aligned with global best practice.

We have a newly created position within our Group Risk team based in our Sydney CBD offices. The role is responsible for the BAU management and continuous development of the new Group-wide QBE Authorities Administration System (QAAS) and the Delegated Authority Letters (DALs) for the Group CEO (GCEO), Group Executive Committee (GEC) and Risk Leadership Team (RLT). Further responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and embed the global Business Operating Model for the QAAS
  • Coordinate and manage the annual refresh and approval, including any ad hoc changes, of GCEO, GEC and RLT DALs
  • Develop and maintain associated framework, policies and standards in relation to QAAS
  • Proactively engage Divisional Risk teams, Group and Divisional QAAS/DAL subject matter experts and wider Divisional Stakeholders to ensure processes add value and meet needs of stakeholders
  • Responsible for the BAU management, configuration, release and implementation for QAAS.
  • Responsible for the ongoing oversight and supervision of QAAS administration.
  • Responsible for establishing and providing continuous QAAS support, in compliance with QBE’s IT minimum standards
  • Contributing to associated aggregated Group-wide CRO reporting in accordance with Risk Reporting Framework
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Divisional Risk teams, Risk System community, IT
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines
  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and generate strong relationships to drive excellent outcomes

Your story so far

  • Solid business knowledge with demonstrable experience/involvement in managing/updating delegated authorities or supervision of authorities’ administration systems
  • Good knowledge of industry best practice in Enterprise Risk management
  • Experience in risk management whether in risk management function (preferable) or in first line
  • Risk management qualification (desirable)
  • Ability to identify opportunity to improve processes with attention to detail
  • Ability to capture user requirements and embed effective processes with adherence to system upgrade deadlines
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills
  • Ability to influence teams and develop relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across the business
