The opportunity

Exciting new opportunity in Group Compliance, within QBE’s Group Legal and Compliance division, have become available. We are looking for expressions of interest from candidates for Compliance Manager / Compliance Officer positions. University graduates with a desire to launch a career in Compliance are encouraged to apply. Group Compliance supports resilient and sustainable business outcomes that are ethically sound and compliant with our legal and regulatory obligations.

You will strategically support the global QBE Insurance business through design and implementation of compliance strategy which may include:

  • Collaborating across both Group and divisional Compliance and Regulatory teams to develop / maintain policies and procedures, and investigation and monitoring of incidents and breaches.

  • Providing information, advice and support on compliance policy and issues to ensure internal stakeholders are up-to-date and are aware of key issues. Policy areas include Privacy, Sanctions and Anti-money laundering, Conflict Management, Outsourcing, Modern Slavery, Conduct Risk, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Modern Slavery.

  • Group communications and training to support understanding and adherence to Compliance policies and understanding of emerging areas of compliance risk.

  • Supporting the Head of Group Compliance and the wider Group Compliance team.

Your story so far

  • Degree in Law/business/commerce/finance.

  • 2+ years compliance and/or risk management experience (preferably in the area of regulatory compliance)

  • Understanding of the global regulatory environment surrounding general insurance / financial services

  • Strong knowledge of key compliance risk concepts and risk management frameworks

  • Experience (or aptitude for) maintaining and developing risk and compliance systems / technology

  • Good analytical skills / intermediate to advanced Excel skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build good working relationships and stakeholder management

  • Someone who can get things done but is also a thinker - not afraid to challenge the status quo and propose better and smarter ways to do things
