The Opportunity

The JP9347 Joint Data Network (JDN) - Joint Interface Control (JIC) System Project is a priority program for BDA. As such we are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the JP9347campaign and execution activities.

We are looking for someone who is innovative, collaborative and inclusive. Your opportunity is to enhance, then deliver, on our compelling offer proposed to our customer, the Commonwealth of Australia, in December 2020.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right Program Manager to play an instrumental role in creating the future of Joint Data Networks in Australia and partner with other innovative and award winning Boeing Programs such as Currawong and Wakulda, as well as present new opportunities for collaboration and innovation.

The JP9347 program is an opportunity for BDA to collaborate with the best of Australian Industry Capability to deliver a JIC solution while working closely with our industry partner, Northrop Grumman Australia and other key Australian suppliers. This important capability will enable enhanced command and control and shared situational awareness through the exchange of tactical, operational and strategic data across Defence and with coalition partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in winning and delivering on a compelling value for money proposal; keeping successful program execution as a primary focus
  • Plan and document an executable program for all program phases
  • Inclusive and collaborative leadership to enhance the execution approach, definition of work and organisational form for execution (Key artefacts - Project Execution Plan; Statement of Work; Work Breakdown structure; Organisational Breakdown structure; Integrated Master Plan & Schedule)
  • Create and nurture a high performing and inclusive team through a purposive and collaborative culture
  • Customer and Industry partner engagement for JP9347 programmatics and capability stewardship, exemplifying Boeing Program Management Best Practices and exhibiting Complex Program leadership skills
  • Proactively represent BDA as a steward of the JP9347 JDN Program

Experience/Qualifications

BDA requires all applicants to be able to demonstrate the following essential qualifications and experience:

  • A developed inclusive and collaborative people-leadership style, and demonstrable experience operating and leading agile and innovative projects
  • Bachelor's degree tertiary qualifications (Technical, Commercial, Legal or Human Resources), and/or extensive experience in program management or a similar combination of skills and experience, ideally in the networks and communications domains
  • 10 years' experience leading cross functional teams to deliver results, preferably in the Defence sector
  • Ability to differentiate routine from complex situations and apply the necessary methods to make sense of messy situations
  • Understanding of systems thinking, disciplined agile project management and delivering results in an environment of complexity and ambiguity
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
