The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Structures (Progressive) based in Oakey QLD. As a BDA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for supervising and maintaining Aircraft systems and servicing requirements within the Product Support, Training & Maintenance (PST&M) capability, and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) services. Primary activities for this position will include modification, maintenance, manufacture and/or assembly activities for the CH-47F Chinook aircraft.

  • Ensure all personnel assigned to maintenance tasks are qualified and certified IAW the applicable Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are incorporated in accordance with approved processes and procedures
  • Provide direction and instructions to assist in the development of subordinate Technicians.
  • Completion of assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of trade level activities, applying post-trade qualifications and/or experience in the relevant trade category in accordance with the appropriate documentation (e.g. maintenance manuals, technical instructions, repair instructions and engineering drawings)


  • Hold a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures)
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Management Systems and the DASR 145 aircraft maintenance regulatory framework
  • Hold a C class driver's license
  • Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet defence security requirements, and have the ability to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance.


  • CH47 Chinook aircraft and/or rotary wing maintenance environment experience
  • Military aircraft maintenance experience
  • Experience and/or training as a supervisor within an aircraft maintenance environment
  • Working at heights training
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety procedures
