JOB DESCRIPTION

About the role:

Seeking a Graduate Project Controller to provide assistance to the Project Controls Lead with project management, planning, cost controls and other duties as required.

The responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

Cost Control

  • Collaborate with the Project Controls Lead to set up project budgets upon handover from Pre-Contracts
  • Collate information to prepare monthly progress claim/debtor invoice
  • Prepare financial reports including original budget, variations, revised budget, forecast cost to complete, forecast final cost, forecast final margin and close-out report
  • Record and collate man hour and machinery usage

Scheduling

  • Liaise with the project team to develop, control and maintain the project schedule
  • Provide required monitoring/reporting consistent with achieving contract deliverables within the agreed timeframes
  • Highlight critical path and monitor effects of variations/delays
  • Provide accurate and timely information on schedule to Project Controls Lead for client meetings and for project reporting to management
  • Support efforts to collect, integrate and report key project data in an efficient manner

Contract Administration

  • Provide day to day interpretation of the contractual terms and conditions
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier contracts
  • Establish general internal administrative protocols and maintain the administration of contractual and other designated correspondence
  • Establish and maintain variation/EOT registers, submission of variations/EOTs and timely reporting (internal and external) of variations progress and payment status
  • Manage the interface between the G&S project administrative system and our client system
  • Establish positive working networks and relationships with both internal and external clients that results in efficient, timely and effective communication
  • Provide high level support to the Project Controls Lead and project team as required

About You:

  • Tertiary qualified – Commerce / Finance or relevant field
  • Written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Organisational skills
  • Basic engineering knowledge (desirable)
  • Good computer skills
