Transport Allocator

Job description

Would you like to be part of the fastest growing technology start-up in the Australian logistics industry? If you are passionate about your craft and have an interest in shaping the digital products to drive our economy, Ofload is the place for you!

About us

Did you know there are 50,000 freight carriers in Australia? We connect this "long tail" of trucking capacity to Australia's largest shippers such as FMCG companies. We use technology to efficiently allocate supply and demand, and thereby eliminate the enormous waste in the industry. Every third truck on Australian roads today drives empty - imagine the environmental impact you can have!

About the opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to work with our Operations team. You would be the primary point of contact for our shippers and carriers - ensuring that we fulfill all our shipments, managing bookings, helping to find and match our carriers with loads, and updating and managing our systems.

Job requirements

  • Receive emails and calls from shippers requesting shipments
  • Call carriers to find capacity and book shipments
  • Allocate all incoming shipments to carriers
  • Update our internal systems for upcoming bookings
  • Manage any issues in the freight shipments
  • Work closely with our Operations and Business Development teams to help with any new inbound shipment opportunities
  • Support with customer service enquiries
About you
We are open to a wide range of profiles, so as long as you meet the general theme of the below, we encourage you to apply!
  • This is an entry-level position, so previous experience is not required (although it would be an advantage!)
  • Experience in the logistics industry (particularly in allocating trucks and road freight) would be advantageous
  • You could also be from the transport industry or from other customer service/booking industries such as travel agents, flight attendants, hospitality or hotel experience, etc
  • This role requires fluent English and full Australian working rights
  • Comfortable working with computer systems (we will teach you how to use ours, just a certain level of comfort with computers)
  • Comfortable talking with customers on the phone
  • Comfortable managing lots of bookings
  • Ability to work proactively and solve problems
Start date: ASAP
