Hevilift is a leading aviation charter service company operating throughout Southeast Asia & the Pacific with operations in Australia supporting the Mineral Resources sector with Fly In Fly Out services and the General Charter market.

As part of our continuing expansion strategy Hevilift will be commencing rotary wing operations from Northern Queensland and we are therefore seeking expressions of interests from suitably qualified individuals for Chief Pilot B407

You will meet the following Minimum requirements:

The role:

  • The Chief Pilot B407 responsible to the Accountable Manager for B407 flight operations and supporting ground operations of the fleet in accordance with the requirements of CASA and Company Policy.
  • Establish and maintain a company technical library containing required operational documents and publications.
  • Implement and maintain a system of flight crew administration and in particular a workable system of record keeping and rostering to facilitate crew flight and duty time limitations and to enable monitoring of flight crew qualifications, licensing, recency and limitations.
  • Implement, maintain and monitor an aircraft allocation and administration system to ensure company aircraft, whenever possible maintain airworthiness status.
  • Implement a security and safety program with respect to company aircraft and facilities.
  • Establish and/or oversee a system of check and training for company pilots, air crew and appropriate ground staff to include checking of pilot proficiency in normal and emergency procedures on each aircraft operated; and the provision of crew emergency training and dangerous goods awareness training.
  • Liaise with applicable authorities on relevant matters concerning the Company’s operations.
  • Appoint pilots for specific contracts, projects or remote operations as required.
  • Receive verbal or written weekly reports on all operational matters from Pilots.
  • Provide weekly and monthly operational reports.
  • Maintain, monitor and respond to applicable safety notices, reports, incidents and/or allegations pertaining to flight operations.
  • Liaise with the engineering department to ensure company aircraft are maintained in accordance with company policy.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be within the knowledge and skills of the individual.

The Requirements:-???

  • Flying experience (2,000 hrs+); Australian Commercial Helicopter license
  • B407 endorsement with minimum 100 hrs on type
  • Previous Management experience. Check and Training Experience will be an advantage.
  • Capable of operating independently as well as leading a team to continually increase the level of professionalism and safety.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of risk assessment and risk management.
