Is a leading global tech company and is reshaping the future of delivery. This subsidiary of our client is focused on on-demand drone delivery service. They have also developed their own unmanned traffic management system to safely route drones through the sky.

About the Role

Our Client believes in a strong safety program as the core of a successful future and as such safety assurance activities are a critical function to ensure they implement and grow their solutions in a safe and sustainable environment. They are looking for a Safety assurance officer who will help to grow and maintain safety assurance functions including assisting with the development, implementation, and ongoing management of systematic auditing, monitoring, and recording program that maintains safety and regulatory compliance performance.
In addition, the person will help establish a safety management system which is compliant to the requirements of the Aviation Regulators.
 
Main Responsibilities

  • Work with leadership to develop, implement and monitor an in-house safety auditing and surveillance program.
  • Work with all areas to establish an effective hazard and occurrence reporting system.
  • Work with team leaders and operations managers to ensure front-line supervisors monitor and report day-to-day activities and make use of regular or daily inspections.
  • Implement safety surveys to canvass your employees’ views about safety.
  • Work with leadership to develop a mature Safety management system compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular reports to leadership on safety and regulatory performance.
  • Be part of a team that works with the regulator to facilitate open and transparent surveillance activities by the regulator or their appointed third parties.
  • Be part of a team which responds to any findings or request from the regulator to ensure our Client maintains a safety culture.

The Successful Candidate

  • Proven experience in compliance and safety auditing.
  • Proven experience in developing safety tools and programs.
  • Proven experience working within an industry sector that requires a high degree of regulatory and safety compliance.
  • The ability to travel nationally and internationally and be away from home for short periods of time.
  • A full Australian driver’s license.
  • Experience within the safety assurance area of an aviation relation business.
  • An understanding of the regulatory requirements regarding Safety Management Systems.
  • An understanding of how to develop and maintain safety culture.
