Your new company
Based in Battery Point, this is a fast moving company operate in various sectors such as transport, retail, hospitality, construction and aviation. Due to expansion they are requiring a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their small team to provide bookkeeping services to support their internal Accountant on a full time or part time basis at least 4 days a week.

Your new role
Reporting to the internal Accountant you will be assisting with Financial, HR and similar associated functions in a role that demands exceptional accuracy, honesty while maintaining strict confidentiality at all times. The primary responsibilities of the Senior bookkeeper will include:

  • Accounts Payables
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Daily banking, including the bank reconciliation
  • Stock movement and allocations
  • Maintaining employee database
  • Processing payroll along with determining payroll liabilities and resolving discrepancies
  • Preparation of the monthly BAS
  • Financial statements through to trial balance
  • Provide system support to clients as required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others as an integral part of the finance team and be able to communicate with others as an essential part of the organisation as a whole
  • Additional related tasks as required.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a good all-rounder, have strong client focus, have excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and have previous recent experience in a similar function. You’ll have excellent attention to detail, strong system skills across multiple financial software packages (including Xero, MYOB and Reckon Enterprise) and be adaptable to an environment which requires a diverse range of skills This role would be well suited to a candidate with multiple years post graduate experience with a strong understanding of Australian Tax, and experiences with SMSF. You’ll also have sounds knowledge/experience in understanding, interpreting and implementing employee award and leave entitlements Candidates need full working rights in Australia and be prepared to undergo a national police check prior to commencement.
