What’s the role?
  • Accountable for digital subscription acquisition, incremental growth in subscriber page views and engagement across dailytelegraph.com.au via newsletters, social media and app alerts;
  • Work in the country’s boldest media outlet and help build on our already successful digital distribution and social media strategy;
  • Work with the Digital Distribution Editor and a social media assistant to drive our strategy, utilising the content of the country’s best journalists and your own original concepts;
  • Hands-on role to use data and analytics to inform and drive outcomes to better target our journalism;
  • Build new and innovative ways to increase our social media footprint, through continually exploring new customer trends in social communication and interaction.
Who are you?
  • Experience driving social media strategies in a fast-paced newsroom or similar environment;
  • Proven experience in journalism and/or social media, with a strong news sense and understanding of the interests of different audiences;
  • Excellent understanding of social media analytics and the ability to know what to do with that information;
  • The ability to write a great newsletter that encourages click-through and stands apart from other news portals;
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to educate and train across the business, including working closely with reporters to champion their own work;
  • We have a very busy newsroom so you need to be flexible with shift hours. This may include weekends, early mornings or evenings.
