The role:

The role of the Credit Assessor is to review loan applications received by Qudos Bank and make a decision on whether the application can be approved. The Assessor must ensure the loan structure is suitable for the applicant’s requirements and objectives and that the application is in line with Qudos Bank credit policy. Credit standards need to be met and any risks addressed and appropriately mitigated.

The Credit Assessor is expected to work with other team members and stakeholders to ensure a smooth loan process that meets service and data quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Credit Assessment – Liaise with Personal Bankers, Brokers or Members to obtain specific information, analyse applicant financial status, read and interpret valuation reports, compile loan packages and facilitate negotiations
  • Documentation Preparation - Collate and ascertain correctness of documentation and information necessary for facilities to be advanced to members. Prepare and administer appropriate loan documentation, pre-and post-execution ensuring statutory and compliance requirements are adhered to and correctly executed in a timely manner
  • Quality Control – Ensure data within our systems is complete and correct, ensure information supplied by Personal Bankers and Brokers to applicants is correct, communicate all relevant feedback to Personal Bankers regarding application quality and provide guidance around improvements, follow all Qudos Bank processes
  • Administration – Manage your loan portfolio files, maintain and update personal knowledge of any policy, interest rates, products or regulatory changes, perform all loan functions efficiently, effectively and accurately in accordance with established policies, standards and processes
  • Identify cross-Sell Opportunities - Identify where an applicant may benefit from another Qudos Bank product or insurance partnership and pass on that opportunity to the appropriate Personal Banker/Broker

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • minimum of 2 years of experience within a similar role
  • Have held a DLA (delegated lending authority)
  • Knowledge of the full loan’s approval process from submission to approval, document preparation and settlements
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Proficient in office productivity suites (for example Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Proficient in constructing business appropriate communications
  • Solid understanding of mathematical concepts
