About the Organisation

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) has its vision to improve the health of people in remote, rural, and regional Queensland, and has been providing aeromedical services to such communities across Queensland for over 90 years.

In delivering over 95,000 episodes of care each year, RFDS employs close to 450 staff across Queensland and places significant emphasis on building the capability of its diverse workforce.

RFDS Queensland Section has its Head Office in Brisbane and maintains nine operational bases in regional centres across the State, and with the exception of its Longreach office, each has an aviation presence. The RFDS in Queensland is also part of the national RFDS federated organisation and contributes expertise and resources in developing common policies and approaches to national issues.

About the Position

Reporting to the CEO, the role of Executive General Commercial will drive commercial lines of revenue; maximise services and contract outcomes; optimise commercial operations and efficiencies; and develop pricing arrangements that balance client satisfaction, patient outcomes and financial sustainability.

You will identify and grow strategic commercial partnership opportunities, applying organisational design principles to ensure optimal and measurable outcomes, team engagement and business alignment. The management of both existing and new contracted services will also see you responsible for the risk mitigation on all commercial contracts.

Additionally, you will bring and implement innovative thinking to deliver both immediate and long-term strategic advantage whilst continuing to build relationships with key stakeholder groups.

About the Person

As a seasoned executive, you will have significant business, financial and commercial experience including well developed strategic planning and business development skills, preferably within a health or aviation organisation.

As a member of the Executive leadership team, you will have strong commercial acumen and analysis and negotiation skills as applied to negotiating major contracts.

With a desire to keep the purpose at the heart of all activities you will also be a passionate ambassador of the brand who is able demonstrate execution of stakeholder engagement strategies.
