Business Process Improvement Manager (Finance)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Improvement Manager is responsible for a review of Virgin Australia overall Group Finance function processes. The review will encompass end to end process of all key finance process including month end close, accrual process in addition to a review of all significant repetitive tasks. Reporting to the CFO, you will play a vital role in leading the change and process improvement initiatives for Finance. This role is a 12 month contract.

As a change driver you will have a level of sophistication and be able to influence and negotiate to achieve desired outcomes and successfully take others through the change journey. Your proven ability to quickly understand complex processes across finance and connected departments will be invaluable to simplify the finance function. This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review current documentation and documented finance processed
  • Critique finance processes understanding the interdependencies and recommend more efficient simpler processes e.g. current accruals process vs best practice
  • Key artefacts/deliverables of the short-term assignment will be:
  • Timetable to support close process
  • Process / work instructions for all team members involved in close process
  • Documented controls for finance leadership team
  • Documentation and implementation of a close process sufficient to manage meet all audit requirements
  • Leveraging the identified opportunities for efficiencies and delivering the solution
  • Working with internal teams including the Robotics team
  • Work with CFO leadership team to challenge current ways of working and identifying alternative ways of working to deliver efficiencies for the team
  • Champion the need and benefits by utilising a structured approach to process improvement and manage improvement requests from the business.
  • Document and Monitor business processes, metrics and standard operating procedures as a result of improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

You will be CA/ CPA qualified and or hold Business Analysis / Lean Six Sigma qualifications. You have strong technical capability and extensive process improvement/ project delivery experience. You will be able to provide detailed insights and analysis for operational teams and enjoy building strong collaborative relationships across the organization.
