Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides a range of modification, production, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence's Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. We work hand-in-hand with our customers to develop and deliver critical capabilities to support their mission now and into the future.

Our team consists of engineers who develop modifications, repairs and continuing airworthiness services to support the fleet of Boeing-managed aircraft in the ADF. As well as provides production services for some of the most advanced communications systems in the world, as well as supporting production across a number of aircraft platforms.

Our team works collaboratively with the customer to develop and deliver critical capabilities to support their missions.

The opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides a range of modification, production, repair and continuing airworthiness services to support Defence's Boeing-managed aircraft fleets and complex communication systems. We work hand-in-hand with our customers to develop and deliver critical capabilities to support their mission now and into the future.

We are seeking a highly motivated Avionics/ ElectricalEngineer to join the team sustaining the world class airborne surveillance, communications and maritime patrol system; the P-8A Poseidon. The role is based at RAAF Base Edinburgh, Adelaide. Boeing's exciting and dynamic team is responsible for providing Deeper Maintenance for the P-8A Poseidon.

As AnAvionics/Electrical Engineeryou Will

  • Developing, documenting, reviewing and validating engineering products in accordance with the approved Engineering Management System.
  • Conduct Continuing Airworthiness Management engineering activities using Defence Aviation Safety Regulations.
  • Planning and implementing a system to capture, manage and report non-conformances.
  • Provide engineering support including physical inspection, evaluation and classification of avionics and electrical system non-conformances.
  • Manage disposition of non-conformances including liaison with local technicians and US Navy.
  • Develop repair/modification instructions to maintain conformance with type design.
  • Provide direct support the sustainment team to ensure safe, high tempo flight operations.
  • Engage effectively with team members, leaders and technical representatives including Royal Australian Air Force and United States Navy personnel.
Experience

/Qualifications
  • Hold an Electrical/Electronics, Avionics or related tertiary engineering degree qualification satisfying the requirements for membership with Engineers Australia.
  • Well-developed communication skills to work collaboratively to a high standard within a multi-discipline team.
  • Previous experience with avionics/ aircraft electrical systems is highly regarded.
