We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Regulatory and Compliance Manager to oversee the establishment and operation of a regulatory compliance function.

About the role:

The Regulatory and Compliance Manager will be tasked with obtaining and maintaining the required licenses and regulatory memberships to meet the requirements of the Future Energy business. Primarily the focus will be the electricity and gas markets but will evolve for the full product range including areas such as hydrogen. 

The role will report into the Head of Enablement as well as working closely with the Senior Corporate Counsel and wider Ampol teams. This role will have you dealing with entities such as Regulatory and Industry bodies.

This role is Sydney based. Our Head Office is currently located in Sydney CBD but will be undertaking a permanent office move to Alexandria mid this year. This is a permanent full-time opportunity. 

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide advice and build the approach to regulatory regimes for new products
  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs
  • Monitor relevant legislation and represent Ampol within the required forums
  • Reporting on Australian energy markets

About you:

You will be tertiary qualified in Law and/or business with relevant industry experience in developing/maintaining regulatory and compliance processes in the Australian energy market. It would be amazing if you had experience within an early phase business setting up applications and processes.

  • Experience in energy retail licence application processes
  • Solutions-driven, commercial approach to compliance including ability to negotiate effectively with regulators 
  • Ability to manage allocated work with supervision as required, build effective relationships with the business units 
  • Very good communication skills (both oral and written) combined with sound analytical skills and problem-solving ability 
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines 
  • Skills to manage and prioritise the many and varied reporting requirements of the Australian energy markets
