The Senior Commercial Analyst is responsible for developing commercial insights, analysis and reporting of Digital and Direct Customer Experience that support the long and short-term digital and customer operations strategies across the Qantas Group. The role is responsible for generating a suite of insights and reports from a complex array of sources and stakeholders, to develop and present in a cohesive commercial and customer overview. The role uses this information to generate strategic and commercial analyses of relevant data and provides actionable insights to facilitate more informed, data-driven decision making by business stakeholders.

The role is also responsible for monitoring the ongoing performance of the key performance indicators across the Digital and Direct Customer Experience portfolio and ensuring performance is consistent with the strategies to achieve the company’s customer, transformation and brand objectives. The role is also required to conduct complex and detailed pieces of analytical work, including operational and financial modelling.

This role works closely with the Senior Management of Commercial Performance and Analytics team –Qantas Digital & Direct Customer Experience to identify, evaluate and articulate opportunities to improve the commercial outcomes across the Qantas Group. The role will play a key support role in determining how Qantas will focus resources, capabilities and activities to achieve the targeted Qantas experience. Using Customer Intelligence to build commercial levers, this role will employ a highly analytical and systematic approach to digital and customer operations.

You’ll have –

  • Preferred experience with database retrieval languages such as SQL and solid knowledge of computer software, including Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI
  • Proficiency in programming languages and data science tools such as Python
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics (or similar)
  • Ability to story tell and clearly articulate trends using data visualisation techniques to efficiently communicate key insights to senior audiences
  • Experience in driving results in a fast-paced and continually changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven negotiation & communication skills at all levels within the company, including staff, staff delegates and management
  • Strategy development and execution
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals of finance and accounting
  • Can effectively understand legal, regulatory and corporate stipulations and evaluate risk and articulate using technical and business language
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, contribute and create effective teamwork across traditional organisational boundaries
  • Advanced decision-making skills with the ability to appropriately delegate
  • Highly motivated with the ability to achieve outcomes without supervision
  • Preparation and presentation of high-level reports, presentation and budgets
