Nauru Air Corporation trading as Nauru Airlines is the national carrier of the Republic of Nauru, operating passenger and freight services to and from the Central Pacific. Operating a fleet of 737-300 aircraft, Nauru Airlines has a network with the hub being Nauru and the operational Head Office in Brisbane. Nauru Airlines operates under the Australian Civil Aviation Legislation to ensure we operate to one of the highest safety standards in the World.

We are seeking a Management Consultant within our Australian based Management team located at level 2, 99 Creek Street, Brisbane. This role will report to the CEO and provide pivotal support to the leadership group and a key link between our Australian, Nauru and other Pacific Operations. Remaining supportive and approachable, the Management Consultant works closely with department heads ensuring that direction and guidance is provided on key issues and decisions.

You will also work closely with our Human Resources department, however as an added, this role also encompasses oversight of several currently outsourced services. These being Corporate Secretarial, Audit and Risk, Public Relations and Business Development and Strategy.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Oversight of the HR function inclusive of recruitment, professional development, succession planning, KPI’s, performance management, employee communication, training, onboarding and inductions

· Having staff based in Australia and Nauru, the ability to lead, mentor and develop to promote continuous improvement initiatives

· Develop policies and ensure contracts, policies and procedures are compliant with legislative requirements and Airline policy

· Review of business structures, systems and methodologies, advising of departures from procedures and standards, and develop solutions to organisational problems

· Critically examine the businesses workflows, records, manuals and job descriptions with a view to recommending and preparing proposals to improve workflows, practices, procedures and redefinition of job functions and assisting in the implementation of approved recommendations

· Provide guidance and support on regulations and policies in respect to labour relations, WH&S, workers compensation and industrial relations

· Secretary of the Audit and Risk Committee, with associated responsibilities and preparing reports to the Committee on Strategic Initiatives and progress on agreed initiatives

· Oversight of the Company Secretarial function

· Liaison and coordination of deliverables with the Airline’s Public Relations firm

· Coordination and implementation of Business Development and Strategy and the Airline’s Strategic Plan

· Participant in industry forums relating to Government Strategic Development Plans such as Pacific Island Forum, Inter-Government Liaison and working groups

You must be able to demonstrate the following criteria:

· Bachelor degree qualifications and/or at least 10 years’ demonstrated experience in this field

· Current knowledge of Aviation industry legislative framework and best practice

· Possess a good understanding of, and application of Safety Management Systems

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with high level of attention to detail

· Outstanding relationship building abilities

· Advanced skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)

· Ability to successfully pass a (DAMP) Drug screening and Medical assessment

· Ability to travel nationally and overseas as required

· Highly developed leadership, management, interpersonal, negotiation and people management skills.

· Aviation industry experience in a similar role desirable but not essential

· Ability to communicate in the Nauruan language desirable but not essential

· Working knowledge of Nauruan legislation as it affects the Airline is desirable but not essential

This position is a full-time role based in Brisbane. Some interstate and overseas travel will be required. Travel to Nauru will be required on a regular basis, possibly for extended durations.

Salary range 95k – 110k plus super.
