The Infrastructure and Resources Division works across the Department, Forest Fire Management Victoria partners, and fire and emergency management agencies to support the operational implementation of Safer Together: a new approach to reducing the risk of bushfire in Victoria. The Director Forest and Fire Assets reports to the Executive Director, Infrastructure and Resources Division, Forest Fire and Regions Group (FFRG) within the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).

Director Forest and Fire Assets

The Director leads a geographically dispersed team of circa 55 staff spanning 6 regions across the state. The team of high performing specialists deliver best practice program management and asset management solutions to support DELWPs forest, fire and emergency management services. 

We seek an outstanding leader to apply program management expertise to three asset units: Aviation Services; Forest and Fire Fleet; Roads and Fixed Assets. The Director will partner with the Forest and Fire Regions' customer group to mobilise assets, fleet, plant and equipment to a highly skilled emergency management workforce. It is anticipated the Director will have expertise managing a similar scale and complex asset base.

A consultative and collaborative leader, you'll demonstrate a strong operational understanding of the best application for whole-of-life asset and equipment strategies to maximise service delivery, cost optimisation and risk management. You will utilise Asset Management Systems that deliver best in class procurement, maintenance, commissioning, decommissioning, logistics and quality assurance solutions.
