Are you passionate about natural resource management? This role is perfect for those wishing to develop their natural resource management skills within a small highly motivated team who are committed to delivering positive natural resource outcomes for the people of Queensland. This role works closely with and supports operational teams and our partners in natural resource management including First nations people.

This role's focus area is to contribute to the planning, implementation and reporting on the South West Region's Natural Resource Management (NRM) program within the Technical Support Team. The South West Region is very diverse and includes Parks and Forests from Gondwana World Heritage listed rainforests of Main Range National Park to Currawinya National Park in the Mulga Lands.

The position will assist the region in delivering priority pest and natural resource management programs and plans, in one or more of the following themes: weed and pest animal management, fire ecology, recovery of threatened species and communities of conservation significance and/or emerging biosecurity issues. The role will liaise directly with field Rangers to provide technical support and assistance in the on ground implementation of priority pest and ecological monitoring programs. The position will be required to travel and undertake field work in remote environments and variable climates. This position may be required to undertake flights in light aircraft and camping in isolated areas with limited options for personal communication.
