The opportunity

Due to an exciting time of expansion and growth at QBE, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Injury Management Specialist to join our Workers Compensation team, within the Insurance for NSW portfolio.

The role is open to candidates based around the Greater Sydney area, with flexible work from home options. 

Within this role, you will be responsible for developing and promoting injury management strategies that are focused on early injury recovery and durable return to work.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Working with Case Managers and treating medical professionals to ensure our Workers are provided with evidence based, best practice treatment and rehabilitation advice as it relates to their workplace injury or illness. 
  • Identifying opportunities to review, develop and modify injury management claims processes, procedures, standards and guidelines in line with research findings that support innovation, improved performance and improved customer experience
  • Contributing to the development of reporting tools for monitoring injury management performance and the success of Return to Work
  • Coaching and mentoring claims staff in best practice injury management through active coaching and training to improve capability

Your story so far:

  • Tertiary qualifications in medical, health or a WHS related area
  • Clinical, supervisory and/or workplace-based rehabilitation experience
  • A high degree of influencing skill partnered with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Developed time management skills with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • A flexible attitude and a motivated, service-oriented approach
  • Knowledge and understanding of injury management and rehabilitation in a compensable setting
