The Opportunity
We are seeking multiple Aircraft Maintenance Engineers - Mechanical to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team supporting Deeper Maintenance at Royal Australian Air Force Base Edinburgh for the P-8A Poseidon program.
As a BDA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for supervising and maintaining aircraft systems and servicing requirements. This will include undertaking aircraft progressive trade activities in support of Product Support Training & Maintenance (PST&M) - MRO Services Capability. Tasking includes modification, maintenance, manufacture and/or assembly activities for aircraft and aircraft component maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring all personnel assigned to maintenance tasks are qualified and certified in accordance with the applicable Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
  • Ensuring that all maintenance activities are incorporated in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
  • Provide direction and instructions to assist in the development of subordinate technicians.
  • Completion of assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of trade level activities, requiring the application of post-trade qualifications and/or experience in the relevant trade category in accordance with the appropriate documentation (planning documents, engineering drawings, etc.).
Experience/Qualifications

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Aeroskills.
  • Ability to obtain DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance License (MAML)
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft maintenance regulatory framework
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Defence Security Clearance of Negative Vetting 1
  • Meet the security requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITARS)
  • Hold a C class driver's license
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures
  • Prior maintenance experience in 737NG or derivative aircraft (desirable)
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
