We are a team of brilliant people dedicated to shaping the future of the UAV industry. We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer – Electrical to work alongside the greatest technical and creative minds in developing UAV propulsion solutions for the biggest players in the market.

What you’ll be doing

The role of the Quality Engineer - Electrical is to manage allocated components which are part of UAV engine/propulsion system production, and to support our Electronic assembly technician.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivery of all components and sub-assemblies that have been assigned to satisfy the production requirements.
  • Working closely with suppliers to ensure components meet required specifications.
  • Providing engineering support to determine cause and provide rectification of component failures at test. Managing engineering change (EC) and non-conformances (NC) in support of production requirements. Manage other small projects as required.
  • Supporting production, where hands-on technical support is required to manufacture, inspection and test of electronic modules and harness assemblies.

This is an important role during our production phase and will give you experience within the burgeoning UAV industry. You will be a part of the journey within an industry set to take off and become a global technological innovation.

What you’ll bring to the team

To succeed in this fast paced, growing business you will be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership of your role. 

You will have a Degree Qualification in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent trade experience and at least 5 years’ experience in progressively responsible engineering roles.

The successful candidate must also have:

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles;
  • Effective Priority / Project Management skills;
  • Experience of manufacturing electromechanical assemblies including harnesses. (IPC 620 cognitive)
  • An understanding of electronic assemblies and their associated manufacturing processes. (IPC 610 cognitive)
  • High level of understanding of electrical/electronic drawings.
  • An understanding of supply chain quality, root cause analysis and supplier capability development processes.
  • Awareness of Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Strong analytical skills, with capability to design and implement inspection and release testing;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels both internally and externally;
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis;
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation;

Experience in a manufacturing aerospace / automotive / small engine environment will be highly regarded.
