The Senior Quality Engineer is an integral part of the team responsible for testing Qantas Loyalty applications, as well as building out our test automation infrastructure. As Senior Quality Engineer, you will be contributing to the continuous development of automation scripts, suite, and improving and building CI infrastructure.


Additionally, you will also be executing performance testing and improving on testing tools and test approach. You will work closely with other team members to create automated test cases and analyse and resolve test failures.


You’ll have:


  • 5+ years experience in designing and implementing automation testing of web-based digital applications, mobile apps, web services, GraphQL, SOAP and RESTful API
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience leading improvements to QE processes, workflow and practices
  • Extensive experience with version control tools like Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD, code reviews etc
  • Experience in embedding best practice in application testing within project delivery teams
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Selenium and BDD
  • Strong knowledge of Javascript based Automation frameworks eg, Cypress, Mocha, JEST, Protractor, Puppeteer etc
  • Skills in leading meetings, documenting test deliverables, testing and providing status updates to management
  • Knowledge and experience of cloud platforms such as AWS – EC2, S3, Cloudformation, DynamoDB, Cloud watch etc
  • Knowledge of dockers and containers
  • Expertise in Mobile app automation and cross browser testing tools
  • Expertise in defining and execution of testing strategies
  • Excellent skills in workshop facilitation, presentation, consultation and negotiation.
