About the role

The Design Manager – OMCS will lead and perform the Design Manager for the Engineering function for projects and is accountable to the Chief Engineer / Head of Engineering / Engineering Manager. It is responsible for working with the HoE to manage the risk, quality and progress of engineering projects within the Engineering function of UGL to organisational standards, and ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope.

  • Ensure a common approach to product development processes, documentation, reporting and program management;
  • Review and oversee product development outputs to ensure compliance with the product requirements;
  • Ensure that management systems are followed for compliance by the engineering and product teams;
  • Undertake any adhoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Engineering / Design Manager.


About You

  • Tertiary degree qualification to Bachelor status in Engineering (or equivalent industry experience in the absence of a degree);
  • 10 years+ experience in the industry (in technology or related market verticals);
  • Experienced gained in the rail, automotive, military, Defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment;
  • Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and/or technology;
