Our Client has a long and established pedigree as manufacturers of high performance electro-mechanical and inductive components serving the Military, Aerospace, Petrochemical, Instrumentation, Transport and Industrial Markets.

They are looking for a Continuous Improvement Professional to lead and coordinate the improvement of their manufacturing activities to deliver sustainable world-classs lean manufacturing methods and processes to delight their customers.

About The Continuous Improvement Lead Role

You will use a variety of lean improvement activities to improve products, systems, operations, lead times and production processes. As part of the role you will look at safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and efficiency.

Some of the responsibilities for the Continuous Improvement Lead include
  • Complete a gap analysis to identify areas of non-compliance and areas for improvement within manufacturing processes and work practices
  • Implement route cause analysis investigations when required
  • Formulate customer centric strategies which optimise existing processes for production which reduces costs and improves yields & lead times
  • Deploy lean methodologies to problem solve and support teams to solve problems and incorporate appropriate corrective techniques to restore and improve quality
  • Train and coach staff to improve their knowledge of; manufacturing processes and equipment, and in the use of problem-solving tools and techniques. Oversee an effective escalation process
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to identify areas for improvement and trouble shoot product quality issues within teams
  • Perform workplace audits and follow up with corrective actions covering plant, machinery, process control and working practices
  • Work with Engineering Manager to facilitate a smooth transition from design to production for any new products
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to speedily resolve any quality issues to ensure zero impact to the customer
  • Monitor progress of customer quality concerns (using 8D reporting)

About the Successful Continuous Improvement Lead Candidate, we're looking for:

The ideal candidate will be
  • Highly analytical with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Capable of solving manufacturing challenges, with a structured approach to tasks and project management
  • Personable and professional skills that generate confidence in others

Technical Skills include
  • Hold a credible background in continuous / business improvement within manufacturing or production industry
  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques and tools
  • Educated to HNC/D level desirable, with mechanical, electrical or quality related discipline
  • Ability to use and demonstrate the use of quality tools such as 5S, Ishikawa, SPC (and statistical analysis problem solving techniques), 8D, Kanban
  • Competent in using Optical Measurement Machines (Keyence, Vici-vision, etc)
  • Have a good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
